KOL describe new album, kick off summer tour
For their next album, the Kings of Leon thought it would be a nice change to record in New York City instead of their usual Nashville and L.A. So they packed their bags, headed to the Big Apple and got to work. But instead of the “darker record” the band anticipated, they created something unexpected.
“…I’ll be damned if we didn’t go in there and make a fun record!” KOL drummer Nathan Followill told MTV Radio. “It’s got songs that are beachy, it’s got songs that are a little more like our Youth and Young Manhood days.”
With the beachy album almost finished just in time for summer, the KOL are back out on tour and recently finished headlining at the Bonnaroo Music Festival.
The tour is currently in full swing until Sept. 23 when they call it a wrap. Special guests The Black Keys, Built To Spill, The Features, The Stills and The Whigs will be joining the Kings on various tour dates.
Check back soon for more Kings of Leon news. And if you haven’t already done so, get your Kings of Leon tickets while you can!
