Kings Of Leon Tickets Just another GreatSeats Blogs weblog 2010-08-15T21:11:53Z WordPress http://www.kingsofleontickets.com/feed/atom/ elizabeth <![CDATA[Release Date Announced]]> http://www.kingsofleontickets.com/?p=55 2010-08-15T21:11:53Z 2010-08-15T21:11:53Z Kings of Leon (KOL) have announced the release date for their upcoming 5th studio album, Come Around Sundown. It is schedule to hit stores in North America on October 19, 2010. Fans in the UK can enjoy the new sounds on October 18th.

The boys of KOL have made it no secret. The new album will sound DIFFERENT, so fans, you have been warned! It has been described as “yet another bold & expansive statement.” I’m not really sure what that means, but if it sounds nothing like the repetitiveness of Sex on Fire, Use Somebody and Notion, I might be interested.

On their current North American tour, new material have been previewed. In a Rolling Stone’s press conference, drummer Nathan Powell said, “The ones we’ve been playing on tour, man, they’ve been going over very well. A lot better than we thought they would. Some of them get better reactions thn the older songs, which is bitter sweet.” He continues, “It’s great to see that they’re digging the direction that we’re heading on this record. It’s fun to play them live… It’ll be great when we can play the whole record…”

The countdown begins. Only 64 more days!

Apparently some pigeons living in the rafters of the venue left one to many surprises for the band, forcing them offstage.

Jared Followill was reportedly hit by pigeon droppings around 3 or 4 times by the third song of the set, and they decided to leave the stage when one of these droppings hit too close to his mouth. The band had been previously warned of the pigeon infestation by the opening groups, both of who finished their sets.

The audience was not too happy with the shows cancellation, and they were told it was for “safety reasons.” Later they got the full story when Nate Followill, the band’s drummer, tweeted, “So sorry St. Louis. We had to bail, pigeons (expletive) in jareds mouth. Too unsanitary to continue.”

Live Nation has announced that fans are being given refunds.

So they packed their bags, headed to the Big Apple and got to work. But instead of the “darker record” the band anticipated, they created something unexpected.

“…I’ll be damned if we didn’t go in there and make a fun record!” KOL drummer Nathan Followill told MTV Radio. “It’s got songs that are beachy, it’s got songs that are a little more like our Youth and Young Manhood days.”

With the beachy album almost finished just in time for summer, the KOL are back out on tour and recently finished headlining at the Bonnaroo Music Festival.

The tour is currently in full swing until Sept. 23 when they call it a wrap. Special guests The Black Keys, Built To Spill, The Features, The Stills and The Whigs will be joining the Kings on various tour dates.

The 2010 Grammy Nominees were announced, and Kings of Leon have received four nominations.

The band snagged noms in these categories:

Record of the Year – “Use Somebody”

Song of the Year – “Use Somebody”

Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group for “Use Somebody”

Best Rock Song – “Use Somebody”

“Use Somebody” is this year’s “Sex on Fire” it seems! But the Kings face stiff competition from their fellow nominees in the various categories, especially Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, U2 and The Black Eyed Peas.

Be sure to tune in to see who wins. The 52nd Grammy Awards airs on January 31, 2010, from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA, on CBS at 8pm (EST).

Possibly the most noted couple, Twilight’s Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, were seen at a Vancouver show in July – it was the official “coming out” announcement that celebrity rags needed to put Bella Swan and Edward Cullen of the big screen hit together in real life.

LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian, who recently left their spouses after news broke that they fell in love on the set of their new movie, were spotted at the California Kings concert in early September.

Drew Barrymore attended the band’s New York show, where she was spotted making out with Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick (she has since reunited with on again, off again BF Justin Long), and the ‘tween couple Zac Effron and Vanessa Hudgens also appeared, attached at the hip.

Currently, Kings of Leon are on the end of their English leg. On August 30th, they announced to the Leeds Festival “This is the last show we have booked in England for a long, long time, so I’m gonna get my buzz on. We’re gonna miss you guys – we’ll see you next year.

That means more touring for the U.S.!!
